DOCUMENTATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS

Gosstandart

In accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet Council of RB No. 240 of April 4, 1996, decision of Gosstandart the State System of Products Cataloging (SSPC) has been introduced since 01.07.1997.

Gosstandart implements overall governance, coordination and control of works for SSPC functioning. The functions of the State Centre of Products Cataloging (SCPC) as the parent enterprise for SSPC maintenance rest on the Belarusian state institute for standardization and certification (BelGISS).

Technical normative and legal acts determining basic provisions, organizational framework, order of products registration and principles of information handling are as follows:

RB Guidelines 0410.35.1-94 State System Cataloging of Products of the Republic of Belarus. Rules of forms completion, registration and keeping of cataloging lists of products and amendments to them.

The primary intent of SSPC is:
• providing of public authorities, enterprises and organizations with comprehensive and reliable information of nomenclature, consumer and operating performances of the output goods of the Republic and their manufacturers;
• forming of products catalogues in various information aspects.

The main source of information for forming for establishment of data bank is the cataloging list of products (CLP). CLP form (MS Word document zip-file 8kb). Mandatory registration in SCPC covers the products manufactured as per the governmental standards of the Republic of Belarus, intergovernmental standards, specifications having passe state registration.

Enterprises effect registration of products in the State Centre of Products Cataloging not later than during a month after realization of the first sample of the first batch of products. They shall register their products in SCPC by presenting the cataloging list to BelGISS. The cataloging lists are drawn up according to RB Guidelines 0410.35.1-94.

It is known that dataware is one of the most important terms of the successful activity of any enterprise regardless the form of ownership or departmental belonging. And opportunity to get in due time full necessary information will promote widening of partnership relations between manufacturers and consumers, to give a chance to choose the most quality and competitive products that can't but be of interest both for managers and specialists as such: designers, production engineers, providers.

Specified tool of information gathering ensures actuality and reliability of data, presenting to the cataloging center. The scheme of products description applied in SCPC allows precisely enough to specify purpose of a product, fully as well as equally to present consumer and operating performance of the group of homogeneous products. Such systematization of information permits to make comparative analysis of the main characteristics of homogeneous products. For example, when choosing tillage machines there is an opportunity to compare them by producing capacity, types of processed soils, web depth, operating depth, overall dimensions and etc. that is important during search of the necessary products.

Thus information stored in SCPC bank of data allows to get data on any demand on the basis of desired parameters: kinds of goods, its characteristics, addresses of manufacturers.

At present SCPC bank of data contains information of more than forty four thousand kinds of goods (type, trade mark, model) produced by all the industry branches of the Republic of Belarus and contact requisites of more than 4700 Belarusian enterprises, producing series products.
